    International Students Welcome Evening 2016

    The ANU International Students’ Department (ISD) would like to thank everyone who attended our International Students Welcome (ISWE) Evening on Friday night.

    International students from across the world, including many just started their studies at ANU this semester, mingled with each other while enjoying food and drink, got to know various national clubs and societies and heard from several of our university leaders as they gave speeches.

    2015 ISD Officer Recruitment

    There was a total of 42 applicants who has applied for the position of ISD officer. Two stage of interview being held, first stage being a group interview with the question “Identify a problem that ISD is facing” and applicants were being judge according their ideas given, performance during group presentation and their ability to work as a team. Each group was given a total of 20 minutes from introduction to discussing to presentation. Applicants who passed the first stage of interview will proceed to the second stage of interview.
    The second stage of interview was an individual interview in order to know about the particular individual ranging from their working style, personality, commitments and etc. Around 10 minutes was given to each individual applicant.
    As result, 19 applicants was chosen and allocated to each department, which are department of publications, events, liaison and advocacy.

    ISD proudly presented the International Students Welcome Evening (ISWE), co-hosted by Postgraduate and Research Student Association (PARSA). ISWE provided a great mingling session to more than four hundred new and returning international students.

    ISD and IDP Education present: IELTS Masterclass

    The IELTS Masterclass is a free 90 minute class designed to provide practical tips and advice to candidates about IELTS test to increase their confidence.

    In addition, the Masterclass examines the assessment criteria used in an IELTS test to score writing and speaking and allow test-takers to better comprehend exactly what IELTS examiners are looking for.

    – Includes practical tips on how best to enhance your English
    – Provides guidance on the common mistakes to avoid
    – Helps you understand the IELTS assessment criteria.

    Remember that learning a language takes time and effort. This IELTS Masterclass is designed to provide advice and support to supplement your other language learning activities and test preparation.

    ISD Visa, Immigration and Regulation Seminar
